Second part of "Survival in the Forgotten City of Trees: The Zombie Dream."
It should be emphasized that these dreams are from months ago, but they have impacted me so much that I keep them in my memory and now in this blog. I´m sharing them separately, as they occurred.
The scenario begins with me waking up in the dark, surrounded by murmurs and a little light in the background. I rubbed my eyes and, upon waking up, realized I was in a moving truck. Everything was dark, due to a binder covering me and the other people in the vehicle. I didn't know how I had gotten there; in fact, I didn't remember getting in. In this dream, I was not aware of being trapped by a zombie the previous time and it was something I remembered only upon waking and during the day of my real life.
Continuing there...I felt as if I had been asleep for a long period and someone had put me in the truck. I managed to make out that, in the back, some people had pulled back the binder to see outside, so I headed that way. When I got there, I was dazzled by the light. I rubbed my eyes and saw that we were on a street so narrow that the truck could barely fit. It was a dusty road, and below it ran a stream of beautiful water. Enjoying the scenery, I looked to the right and, as I turned my head to the left, I saw people climbing up a slope, running because of some zombies.
That is when I remembered that we were in an apocalypse. I got worried and started asking people around me where they were taking us, but no one knew who they were or even how they had appeared in the truck.
We got to a place where the street was wider and you could get out to go up the mountain. There were people there, but when they saw us they hid, which I thought was strange. I signaled them, and they told me to get out of the truck, warning me that if I stayed there, I was going to die. (I didn't know sign language, but I understood their message) I told the people next to me that we should get off, but they called me crazy, claiming that these were rebels who would rather eat garbage and fight zombies than follow government orders. Without thinking, I jumped out of the truck.
I watched it drive away and doubted if I had made the right decision. I panicked when someone shouted that I would be eaten, as those who did not submit to the government were cannibals. I froze, watching the truck drive away, until someone grabbed my hand and started to run. At first I objected, but then looking behind bacause a noise called my attention I saw thousands of zombies coming a few yards away and started running uphill with this stranger, I ran so fast that I left everyone behind, who at some point started laughing at me. I didn't understand why they were laughing, so I started running slower and watched them. for my surprise, I saw that the zombies couldn't climb the mountain that fast, and I started laughing too.
I noticed a man with dead rabbits on his chest, a brown girl with some pans; I knew they were for us to eat. I felt the need to start gathering herbs and anything edible to contribute as well.
I felt safe and like at home.
I woke up, I was back in my own life.
